INDUSTRIAL DESIGN DIRECTOR

JDK Design, a high-profile design firm headquartered in Burlington, Vt., seeks an Industrial Design Director to lead its industrial-design team and produce smart and progressive 3-D design solutions across diverse categories, including footwear, bags/apparel, branded environments, retail and trade-show-exhibit design, and packaging, among others.

Our Industrial Design Director must thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and exhibit grace, humor, and flexibility under pressure. Must have powerful presentation skills, be organized and efficient, and demonstrate great attention to detail. Must be able to manage projects from beginning to end and understand 3-D production processes. Must always be pushing him/herself to consider innovative and unconventional brand-informed design solutions—and help clients to do the same.
Experience with industrial design applications, including Illustrator, SolidWorks, Maya, or equivalent 3-D rendering programs, is essential. At least two years in a department-head or leadership position, five years of industrial design experience within a studio setting, and an industrial-design degree from an accredited college required.
